What's Next Papa?

Jeremy returns to work tomorrow.  His scar is healing and his pain is minimal.  He's completely off pain medications and doing very well.  He moves a little slower, but he's well down the road of recovery.  Jeremy has come through the other side of this trial.  With God carrying him, and me, along with unbelievable friends and family, by his side.  We both have a new perspective and renewed purpose in life.  We have joy like never before. We prayed to see the sarcoma through and we have!
The long term treatment plan for Jeremy is a five-year follow-up.  He will go in for a CT scan or MRI every three months for the next three years.  After that, they will space it out to every 4 or 5 months for the following two years.  Jeremy and I aren't certain what is in store for the next five years.  But we are not afraid.  We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil 4:13).
As for now, we have things to do in this life and we're exuberantly running down the path God has cleared before us.

"So don't you see that we don't owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent.  There's nothing in it for us, nothing at all.  The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life.  God's Spirit beckons.  There are things to do and places to go!  This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life.  It's adventurously expectant.  Greeting God with a childlike, 'What's next, Papa?'  God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are.  We know who he is, and we know who we are:  Father and children.  And we know we are going to get what's coming to us -- an unbelievable inheritance!  We go through exactly what Christ goes through.  If we go through the hard times with him, then we're certainly going to go through the good times with him!"  Romans 8:12-16 The Message
